November 20, 2017

Every winter, do you notice increased dandruff or a itchy scalp. Then you may have a dry scalp. Dandruff gets worse for many in winters because of dry and cold air. In some, dandruff blocks follicles and may lead to increased hair fall. You can avoid embarrassing dandruff with these 3 simple steps.

dandruff itchiness

1. Exfoliate your scalp

In winter, dead skin cells tend to accumulate and block your follicles. If you live in a hard water area, this can get worse. If you color your hair regularly, the color deposits may also affect your scalp. Remember, ordinary shampoos may make dandruff worse by drying out your scalp. Because of these reasons, it is important to remove dead skin and dandruff flakes regularly with a gentle cleanser made for hair.

We highly recommend using the Purifying Scalp/Hair Cleanser designed to clear deposits from your scalp. It contains Mahogany Wood, Green Tea, Fire Tulip, Karite and Vitamins A & E to ensure a thorough detox of your scalp.

In winter, dry and cold air robs your scalp of moisture leaving it itchy and red. Once or twice a week apply a high quality oil to your scalp. Massage for a few minutes to increase blood circulation and for a general sense of well-being. Avoid heavy oils which will leave your scalp and hair greasy. Use essential oils such as Argan and Peppermint oil helps prevent dandruff very well.

We highly recommend the Clear Scalp Therapy Oil which combines Argan oil, Peppermint oil, Tea Tree oil, Cypress oil, Thyme oil and Rosemary oil to give you a high quality all-in-one anti-dandruff treatment as well as nourishing your hair.

In winter, avoid shampooing daily. As recommended above, use a high quality cleanser 2 to 3 a week to avoid drying out your scalp. Keep your hair combed to remove dust and deposits. Wash only when you feel the hair and scalp getting a little greasy.

In addition, drink plenty of water and eat natural healthy foods to detoxify, reduce inflammation and eliminate excessive free radicals.
